Only passenger trains, like as the Bhadrak-Balasore MEMU, Howrah Bhadrak Baghajatin Fast Passenger, and Kharagpur Khurda road Fast Passenger, used to make brief stops at the station as they passed through the Bahanaga Bazar Railway station every day. According to PTI, out of the 1,208 injured people, ex-gratia was given to 709 passengers.
Before Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) formally assumed control of the investigation into the 288-person fatal Balasore train accident in Odisha, the investigation agency started gathering documents and information. The CBI lodged the FIR under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) Sections 337 (who causes hurt to any person by doing any act in such a haste or negligence as to endanger human life), 338 (who causes grievous hurt by an act endangering life or personal safety of others), 304 A (causing death by negligence), and 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention).
After the railway minister said that there are some people who are responsible for “criminal acts” that caused the accident, the probe began. Additionally, railway personnel also suggested “sabotage” and meddling with the computerized interlocking system.
