Nitish Kumar To Attend Meeting In Delhi As NDA Retains Power

As NDA secures a comfortable majority in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the coalition will hold its first meeting in Delhi. Nitish Kumar will attend the meeting. In the meeting on Wednesday, the National Democratic Alliance will discuss the roles and ministerial quota for the Modi government.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah informed Nitish about the meeting on Tuesday. The meeting is scheduled for 4 p.m. on Wednesday.

With Bihar Chief Minister and JD(U) Chief Nitish Kumar, President of Lok Jan Shakti Party (Ram Vilas), Chirag Paswan, and Hindustan Awam Morcha(HAM) President, Jitan Ram Majhi will also attend the meeting.

Currently, JDU Chief Nitish Kumar and TDP’s Chandrababu Naidu are at the centre of National Politics. The stance of Nitish Kumar and Chandrababu Naidu will decide whether the NDA will continue to reign in Centre.

The NDA won 30 of the 40 Lok Sabha seats in Bihar, while the INDIA alliance won nine seats. An independent candidate Pappu Yadav secured the Lok Sabha seat of Purnia.

When compared to the numbers of 2019, NDA suffered a loss of 9 seats. In the 2019 Lok Sabha General election National Democratic Alliance had secured 39 seats. JD(U) lost four and BJP lost 5 parliamentary constituencies leading to a loss of 9 to BJP in Bihar. Within the NDA, BJP and JD(U) stand in the same place winning 12 seats each.

All eyes are on the Delhi gathering as the meeting will decide over the third term of the BJP-led government in the centre.

It is worth mentioning that the Bihar CM returned to Patna from Delhi on Monday.
