Qureshi targeted some members within the Congress for their stance on Hindutva and their focus on religious pilgrimages. He expressed his disappointment at this and referred to such actions as shameful and self-destructive. He labeled Congress’s policies as anti-Muslim and indicated that even if he is expelled from the party, he wouldn’t be concerned. He criticized the fact that Muslims are not included in the military, police, or navy and questioned why they should vote for such parties. He defended his controversial statement in an interview with a private news channel, asserting that he stands by it and has no regrets.
