MP University ‘FORGETS’ To Conduct Exam After Releasing Admit Cards, Students Protest

A university in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, released the schedule and sent out admit cards to students, however they “forgot” to conduct the exam for a subject. Upon arriving at Rani Durgavati University, MSc computer science course students were informed that the exam will not take place since the university was unprepared.

Following a protest held by students the university administration launched an investigation into the situation. The students also demanded the removal of errant officers.

The schedule for the first semester of the M.Sc. Computer Science test was released by the university in February. The candidates, who had also traveled from surrounding districts, were shocked to learn that the institution had not prepared for the exam, which was supposed to take place on Tuesday. Workers from the National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) stormed into the Vice Chancellor’s office after knowing about the mistake. The NSUI asked that the guilty officers face severe consequences for meddling with the kids’ futures.

Two employees who are in charge of the examination have been asked to respond to the Vice Chancellor’s request for information within three days. He promised that as soon as the investigation report was turned in, the guilty would be punished.

Registrar Dr. Deepesh Mishra acknowledged the incompetence and announced the formation of an investigating group. He noted that a revised schedule had been made available and that the first semester test for the MSc in Computer Science would take place from March 7–15.
