In a significant diplomatic move, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s administration is considering sending multi-party parliamentary delegations to major global capitals to expose Pakistan’s involvement in the recent Pahalgam terror attack and rally international support against cross-border terrorism.
These delegations, comprising MPs from across the political spectrum, will seek to directly present India’s evidence and viewpoint to foreign governments and international bodies, aiming to reshape the global discourse.
According to sources, the initiative comes amid Pakistan’s increased efforts — including comments by US President Donald Trump — to internationalise the Kashmir dispute, which India maintains is a strictly bilateral issue.
If approved, this will be the first time the Modi government has deployed elected representatives as diplomatic envoys to challenge Pakistan’s narrative on the world stage.
The delegations will focus on two key objectives:
- Briefing nations on the Pahalgam terror attack that claimed 26 lives, and
- Clarifying that India’s ‘Operation Sindoor’ targeted terror infrastructure in Pakistan-occupied territories, not civilians
“The aim is to break the narrative being spun by Pakistan and its sympathisers,” said a senior official involved in the effort.
The Ministry of External Affairs, alongside Intelligence and Defence agencies, is preparing comprehensive dossiers and key talking points for the MPs.
Indian embassies worldwide will support the mission by arranging meetings and providing strategic assistance.
MPs will likely highlight Pakistan’s long-standing use of terrorism as state policy, presenting intelligence on terror camps, recruitment, and ISI involvement.
They will also point out that Pakistan’s retaliatory moves following ‘Operation Sindoor’ further prove its support for terror groups.
This global diplomatic campaign aims not only to isolate Pakistan internationally but also to strengthen India’s position ahead of important international forums and bilateral talks.
