Manohar Lal Khattar, the chief minister of Haryana, took a dig at JJP over JJP MLA Ramkaran Kala’s resignation from the position of chairman of the Haryana State Federation of Co-operative Sugar Mills Limited on Saturday amid the ongoing verbal spat between the BJP and JJP allies.
The CM claimed that confusion is being spread among farmers to give the impression that the government is unconcerned about them, despite the fact that what the BJP has done for farmers has never been done before during a press conference. He also discussed the farmers’ protest for MSP on sunflower crop and the transfer of funds to the accounts of 8,528 sunflower farmers under the Bhavantar Bharpai Yojana.
He added that certain people were playing politics with this problem and misleading the farmers. Khatthar said, “There is someone who even went to the extent of announcing his resignation. I will call this an act of playing politics. I assumed that the resignation will come to me or to anyone else in the government. But none of us have received it wihout naming Kala.
Ramkaran Kala, a JJP MLA, informed the media on Tuesday that he had tendered his resignation in protest against the lathi charge on farmers who were protesting against the government’s failure to buy sunflower crop at MSP. In response to the question, whether the government would accept the resignation if it reaches them, Khattar responded that he would will make a decision regarding the resignation only after receiving the letter.
Khattar said that JJP-BJP was formed for the public good and would remain in place when reporters questioned him about its future. In response to questions regarding rumours of divisions inside the BJP-JJP coalition, he stated they were all just rumours.
However Kala told The Print, “I handed over my resignation to Deputy CM Dushyant Chautala as it was because of him that I was given this post. Now, it’s the weekend. Let Monday come and I will hand over my resignation to the CM.”
