Mamata Banerjee’s Helicopter Makes An Emergency Landing Due To Bad Weather

Officials claimed West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s helicopter made an emergency landing at the Sevoke air base near Siliguri on Tuesday afternoon due to poor weather.

They said Mamata Banerjee was on her route to Bagdogra airport after speaking at an election rally in Jalpaiguri when her chopper encountered adverse weather while flying over the Baikunthapur forest.

An official told PTI, “It was raining very heavily here, and the pilot decided to make an emergency landing”.

“Following the incident, it was agreed that Mamata Banerjee will travel by road to the Bagdogra airport before flying back to Kolkata”, an official added.

The chief minister was campaigning in northern West Bengal for the panchayat elections, which will be held on July 8.
