Lok Sabha Polls: Increase In Voter Turnout Till 11 am, Bengal At 32.82%, Goa At 30.94%

Election Commission of India reported that there has been a significant increase in voter turnout in the third phase of the Lok Sabha election, with Bengal topping the charts at 32.82 percent until 11 am.

Goa has a high voter participation of 30.94 percent as well. With 18.18% of voters turning out until 11 a.m., Maharashtra is still behind.

Voting percentages for other states participating in the third phase of the Lok Sabha polls as of 11 am are– Assam–27.34 per cent, Bihar–24.41 per cent, Chhattisgarh–29.90 per cent, Gujarat–24.35 per cent, Karnataka–24.48 per cent, Madhya Pradesh–30.21 per cent and Uttar Pradesh–26.12 per cent.

Union Territory Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu recorded 24.69 per cent voter turnout till 11 am.

Leaders of the opposition and the BJP, have called on voters to turn out in force for the biggest celebration of democracy.

Meanwhile, over 1300 candidates roughly 120 of them are women are competing in this phase and votes can be cast at 1.85 lakh polling places by a total of 17.24 crore voters.

Earlier, PM Modi participated in the third phase of Lok Sabha elections at Nishan Higher Secondary School in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Amit Shah, the Union Home Minister, greeted the Prime Minister at the polling station.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah, former chief ministers of Madhya Pradesh Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Digvijaya Singh, Minister of Civil Aviation Jyotiraditya Scindia, Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, leader of the Samajwadi Party Dimple Yadav, and leader of the NCP (SP) Supriya Sule are among the notable figures who will be competing in today’s elections.
