Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray attacked the BJP-led Centre on Thursday, claiming that Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had presented the “last” budget of the Narendra Modi government.
Speaking to party employees in the Mumbai suburb of Raigad, Thackeray reported that Sitharaman had stated that the budget would prioritize four “castes”: the impoverished, women, youth, and farmers.
According to Thackeray, the government has finally acknowledged that there are four groups of people in the nation.
“The Modi government presented its last budget. Want to thank the finance minister because she did it with a very heavy heart and presented the last budget,” Thackeray said.
Ahead of the parliamentary elections, Sitharaman unveiled her sixth consecutive budget on Thursday.
Pre-election budget, also known as an interim budget and technically a vote on account, was presented by Sitharaman to cover the central government’s necessary spending for the first four months of the upcomin fiscal year starting in April.
After the general elections in April and May, a newly elected government will probably present the entire budget in July.
