Ladakh Army Truck Crash
According to authorities, on Saturday night in Kiari in the Leh district, an army truck that was one of three vehicles on a reconnaissance patrol drove off the road and fell into a steep valley, killing one junior commissioned officer (JCO) and injuring another.

Lt Col. PS Sidhu, a spokesman for the military headquartered in Leh, stated that “the convoy was moving from Leh to Kiari when the truck went off-road.” He said, “Nine troops, among them a JCO, perished and another was injured in the unfortunate occurrence. According to the spokeswoman, the event took at about 7 o’clock.
According to Leh SSP PD Nitya, an accident occurred 6 kilometres from Kiari as an army truck carrying 10 soldiers, including the driver, was heading from Leh to Nyoma around 1645 hours (6.45 pm). “The car ran off the road and fell into a narrow valley. A police squad hurried to the scene and started a rescue effort as soon as the reports reached the local police, she continued.

The SSP reported that they had sent all of the injured to the army’s MI room. “Unfortunately, eight workers passed away immediately. Nine soldiers have succumbed to death due to their injuries, with an additional soldier dying while being transported to a hospital in Leh. A second soldier has a serious injury, she said.
“Ashok Leyland Stallion (ALS) truck that was travelling in a convoy from Leh to Nyoma slid into the valley at around 5:45 or 6 o’clock, seven km short of Kiari. The automobile carried ten passengers; nine of them died, and one sustained injuries. Indian Army officials released a statement stating that they have taken the injured personnel to a hospital.
According to reports, the army squad aboard the tragic vehicle included members of the 311 Medium Regiment (artillery). A Maruti Gipsy, a truck, and an ambulance made up the three-vehicle convoy that was carrying at least three officers, two JCOs, and 34 soldiers.
