In an encounter with the security forces on Tuesday in the Shopian area of Jammu and Kashmir, two terrorists were killed, according to the police in Srinagar. They stated that one of the terrorists was responsible for Kashmiri Pandit Sanjay Sharma’s murder in February of this year.
In Shopian’s Alshipora neighborhood, Morifat Maqbool and Jazim Farooq, also known as Abrar, were slain during a counterterrorism operation, according to the police.

The encounter
Terrorists shot and killed Sanjay Sharma, a bank security guard. While he was traveling to a market close to his home in February. He passed away while receiving care at the hospital. In this second confrontation, terrorists responsible for the murder of Sharma were also slain. After a joint operation by the army and the police in Pulwama’s Padgampora hamlet on February 28, Aquib Mushtaq Bhat, another terrorist involved in the killing, was shot dead in an encounter two days after Sharma.
Connections with Lashkar – e – Toiba
The Lashkar-e-Toiba has been connected to both terrorists. Numerous Kashmiris, including senior police personnel from the Pulwama district, attended Sharma’s final rituals. The attack on a Hindu civilian in Jammu and Kashmir in February marked the first in the region in more than four months.
