Mehbooba Mufti, the leader of the PDP, criticized the Jammu and Kashmir government on Sunday for removing Kashmiri workers from their jobs based only on the suspicion that they support terrorism.

Mehbooba’s response came one day after Sajad Ahmad Bazaz, the Jammu and Kashmir Bank’s chief manager, was fired for allegedly posing a “threat to the security of the state”. President Mehbooba Mufti on Sunday slammed the Jammu and Kashmir administration for selectively terminating Kashmiri employees from service by labelling them as “terrorist sympathisers”.
The former chief minister declared on X, formerly known as Twitter, that “selectively terminating Kashmiri employees by falsely labeling them as terrorist sympathizers & pro ISI has been normalized.” “With the government serving as judge and jury, the accused isn’t given the opportunity to prove his innocence. This vandalism is intended to terrorize the people of Kashmir into surrender, she continued.

The bank’s managing director issued an order on Saturday that read in part, “After considering the facts and circumstances of the case contained in the report received from credible agencies that the activities of Mr Sajad Ahmad Bazaz…posted at Internal Communication and Marketing Department are such as to warrant his dismissal from service under Rule/Provision 12.29 in OSM (Officers Service Manual).”

The order asserts that it is not necessary to conduct an investigation into Mr. Sajad Ahmad Bazaz’s case in order to protect the security of that state. The majority owner of the Jammu and Kashmir Bank is the state of Jammu and Kashmir.
