Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke with his Israeli counterpart, Benjamin Netanyahu, on Thursday, following Tuesday’s terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir.
Netanyahu ‘strongly condemned’ the assault and expressed solidarity with India and the victims’ families, according to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).
Modi stressed the attack’s ‘barbaric’ character and vowed to bring the perpetrators and their supporters to justice.
Israeli Ambassador to India Reuven Azar told the media that Israel ‘condemns in the strongest terms’ the Pahalgam attack and will continue to share technology, methodology and intelligence with India in counter‑terror efforts.
Countries worldwide have denounced the assault:
Gunmen opened fire on tourists in the Baisaran meadow of Anantnag district on Tuesday, killing 25 Indian nationals and one Nepali citizen and injuring several others.
Authorities describe the incident as the worst terror strike in Jammu & Kashmir since the 2019 Pulwama bombing.
