India Proposes New Draft On Russia Ukraine War At G20 Summit

The biggest international event ever happened in the history of India – G20 has finally begun. World leaders, as we know them are all gathered in this ancient nation where they will be talking about a variety of concerns going around the globe. The most important issue that must be discussed currently is the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine which started in the month of February in the year 2022. After a lot of debates and deliberations, the delegates coming from various nations are brought to the same page. They have “reached a compromise” to discuss Russia-Ukraine. They have circulated a reworked draft on Russia Ukraine, of the joint declaration among member states.

G20 divided on draft of Russia – Ukraine

The 20-nation bloc is profoundly divided on the war in Ukraine; Western nations are pushing for a harsh condemnation of Russia, while Moscow, supported by its ally China, wants to soften international criticism of its “special military operation,” creating a significant barrier to cooperation. Amitabh Kant, the G20 Sherpa for India, stated on Friday that the joint declaration was “almost ready” and will be sent to the summit’s participants over the course of the two days.

Geopolitical situation in Warstruck countries

According to a prior copy of the summit declaration that media looked at, negotiators were unable to come to an agreement on the language referring to the situation in Ukraine. Members were given a 38-page draft to review, but the section on the “geopolitical situation” was left out while agreement was obtained on 75 other paragraphs covering a range of subjects.

Delegates have now approved the new wording proposed by India, which will now be given to leaders. There are currently no specifics available, but it may sound similar to the language in the statement for the Indonesian summit in 2022, it said. Although most countries denounced Russia’s invasion, this letter acknowledged that there were dissenting opinions.
