India Literature Festival 2025: CMD Upendrra Rai Highlights Leadership & Future Readiness

CMD Upendrra Rai addressed the Leadership session at the India Literature Festival held in Delhi’s Ambedkar Auditorium.

He emphasised that effective leadership stems from intrinsic qualities and the ability to manage responsibilities, noting that running a country is a far greater challenge than managing a family.

He highlighted that the pace of development has accelerated dramatically over time; what once took 300,000 years can now be achieved in just 30 days.

CMD Upendrra Rai illustrated leadership with historical anecdotes. He cited King Bharat, whose sons failed to become heirs until a decisive intervention from their mentor led to the appointment of Manu’s son as crown prince.

CMD Rai used the example of Sher Shah Suri to stress the importance of strict law enforcement. Suri’s exemplary punishment for a robbery instilled social discipline for five years, demonstrating that leadership requires decisive action and the establishment of rules.

He recounted an incident in Akbar’s court where two Rajput children proved their courage to the emperor through self-sacrifice, demonstrating that leadership comes from action, not fear.

CMD Rai emphasised that spiritual leaders require recognition, citing how women rescued Jesus yet received little acknowledgement, highlighting persistent gender disparities in respect and recognition.

Challenges in Commercial and Technological Leadership

CMD Rai criticised India’s weak commercial leadership and declining research investments, contrasting India’s potential with the West’s progress.

He urged the revival of India’s coding knowledge and innovation heritage, stressing the need for institutions to rediscover and decode ancient wisdom, referencing Krishna’s teachings and the work of Acharya Rajneesh as inspirations.

He highlighted the importance of the Indian diaspora maintaining cultural and technological ties to India, noting that talent must be retained and nurtured domestically.

CMD Rai emphasised that brilliant ideas require time, patience, and supportive systems.

CMD Rai outlined nine stages of human and societal development, from primitive survival to the agricultural, industrial, computer, and startup eras, noting that AI will now accelerate progress to unprecedented levels.

He warned that human dominance may diminish in the face of AI but celebrated the significant role women play in shaping AI modules, praising their contributions.

He further concluded by urging India to be ready for the new era, emphasising foresight, preparation, and collective effort.

Moreover, CMD Upendrra Rai’s session underscored that understanding history, embracing innovation, respecting nature, and nurturing leadership at all levels are essential for India’s progress and global recognition.

CMD Rai’s address served as a clarion call for Indians to harness their historical knowledge, technological potential, and ethical leadership to navigate the challenges of the 21st century and emerge as global leaders in innovation, governance, and culture.
