IMD Predicts Severe Heatwave In Delhi For Next 4 Days, Max Temperature To Touch 46 Degrees Today

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts that Delhi will experience a severe heatwave on Monday, with a maximum temperature of 46 degrees Celsius and a low temperature of 29.2 degrees Celsius, which is 2.6 degrees above average. The national capital is set to see the same weather for the next four days, with no break from the relentless heat.

According to the Safdarjung weather observatory, the national capital saw a maximum temperature of 45.4 degrees Celsius on Sunday—five degrees more than average.

The city has seen maximum temperatures above 40 degrees since last week, providing little break from the oppressive heat.

The maximum temperature in Delhi for the next three days is expected to stay at 46 degrees, according to the IMD seven-day prediction. On Thursday, it will drop one degree, and on Friday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, it will drop to 44 degrees.

Light rain on Friday and partly cloudy skies on Saturday were the forecasts from the met department.

Mungeshpur in Delhi had the highest recorded temperature on Sunday, reaching 48.3 degrees Celsius. Second place went to Najafgarh with 48.1 degrees.

The Met Department reports that the temperatures were at least 8 degrees above average.

According to the IMD, there will be extreme heatwave conditions for the next five days in certain areas of Rajasthan, Punjab, and Haryana, as well as in West Uttar Pradesh on Monday and Tuesday.

Parts of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, and Gujarat on Monday, and Jammu and Himachal Pradesh on Tuesday and Wednesday are also expected to experience heatwave conditions.
