For the next three days, the IMD predicted light to moderate to fairly widespread rain throughout the area.
The Northeast monsoon is intensifying in Tamil Nadu over the next two days, and the Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC) said that widespread rainfall is expected in most of the districts, according to local reports. According to the meteorological department, cyclonic circulation indicates a high probability of rain in 14 districts of Tamil Nadu over the next 24 hours.
The Nilgiri, Tenkasi, Tirunelveli, and Kanyakumari districts, Erode, Tirupur, Theni, Dindigul, Madurai, Virudhunagar, Thoothukudi, Ramanathapuram, Sivagangai, Pudukottai, Thanjavur, Tiruvarur, Nagapattinam, Mayiladuthurai, Cuddalore, Salem, and Dharmapuri districts are all expected to experience heavy to very heavy rain in one or two locations, according to IMD.
