On Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the Kashi Vishwanath Temple in Varanasi, where he performed traditional rituals and prayed for the welfare of the nation.
Taking to X, PM Modi posted, “Har Har Mahadev! I was fortunate to have darshan and perform pooja at Baba Vishwanath Temple in Kashi. Here, I prayed to Lord Bholenath for happiness, prosperity, and a healthy life for all citizens of the country.”
“The darshan of Maa Annapurna and Maa Ganga brought immense peace. May their grace infuse positive energy in everyone! Salutations once again to the people of Kashi 🙏,” the post read.

The Prime Minister took part in customary ceremonies, including aarti and abhishek, while Vedic chants were recited at the temple.
Ceremonial drum beats and conch sounds welcomed PM Narendra Modi at the temple.
The administration presented him with symbolic items associated with Lord Shiva.
Devotees raised religious slogans as he interacted with the crowd, with many, including children, gathering to catch a glimpse of the Prime Minister.
Later in the day, PM Modi will likely travel to Hardoi to inaugurate the Ganga Expressway, a major infrastructure project built at a cost of around Rs 36,230 crore. He will also address a public gathering at the venue.
The 594-km expressway has been designed as a six-lane access-controlled corridor, expandable to eight lanes, connecting districts such as Meerut, Bulandshahr, Hapur, Amroha, Sambhal, Badaun, Shahjahanpur, Hardoi, Unnao, Raebareli, Pratapgarh and Prayagraj.
The project will likely reduce travel time between Meerut and Prayagraj to about six hours, significantly improving connectivity. It also features a 3.5-km emergency landing strip in Shahjahanpur for strategic use.
Officials said the expressway will support economic activity through planned manufacturing and logistics hubs across more than 2,600 hectares, while also benefiting farmers, boosting tourism and generating employment.
The corridor will integrate with other major expressways. It will form part of a wider network aimed at enhancing connectivity and promoting balanced development across Uttar Pradesh.
