Gujarat Farmer With Family Commits Suicide, Daughter Survives

On Friday, a farmer, 50, his wife, and their two children consumed poison in a village in Gujarat’s Junagadh district. Three of them passed away, while the daughter survived but is still in serious condition.

Farmer Vikas Ramnik Dudhatra (age 50), his wife Hina Vikas Dudhatra (age 45), daughter Happy (18), and a young son attempted suicide after eating poison in his own field. They were then taken to the hospital, where three of them later passed away, according to a police official.

The daughter, on the other hand survived suicide while her condition remains critical. The police official further added that the precise reason why the family took such drastic action is still unknown.

Pradeep Sawaliya, a close friend of Vikas, claimed that the latter contacted him after taking poison and told him about the incident. Pradeep responded quickly to the call and called emergency services.
