Ganga Expressway Unaffected By Heavy Rain; Waterlogging Limited To Unnao Ramp

The Ganga Expressway remains fully operational despite continuous and unusually heavy rainfall, with traffic movement continuing normally across the route.

Officials said no waterlogging has occurred anywhere along the expressway, except at one specific ramp in Unnao.

The region has received excessive and abnormal rainfall, with heavy downpours disrupting normal life in several areas.

Officials said a nearby low-height high-tension electricity line has also affected drainage arrangements, leading to waterlogging at the ramp.

The agency responsible for the expressway is coordinating with the concerned authorities and taking necessary steps to relocate the high-tension power line.

Officials expect to shift the line soon after the monsoon season ends, which should improve drainage at the affected location.

Despite the weather conditions, the Ganga Expressway team remains on alert and continuously monitors the entire route.

Officials said the team is monitoring conditions to ensure safe and smooth traffic movement and respond promptly to any weather-related issues.

RS Mishra, Project Manager of the Ganga Expressway, said the expressway is functioning normally despite the exceptionally heavy rainfall.

He said the team is fully prepared to ensure safe traffic operations and monitor conditions across the expressway.

The situation comes amid intense rainfall in several parts of Uttar Pradesh, which has disrupted normal life and created waterlogging concerns at various locations.

However, officials maintained that the Ganga Expressway has continued to support regular traffic movement, with the isolated waterlogging issue limited to the identified ramp in Unnao.
