Union Culture and Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat emphasized the need for cooperation between public and private sectors to promote sustainable tourism. Speaking at the G-20 Tourism Ministerial Conference in Brazil, Shekhawat highlighted the importance of cultural exchange and heritage preservation. He participated in a session organized by the World Travel and Tourism Council.
On the sidelines of the conference, Shekhawat met Spain’s Tourism Minister Jordi Herreu i Bohr to discuss boosting tourism ties through direct contacts and trade fairs. In talks with Czech Deputy Prime Minister Ivan Barto, Shekhawat explored eco-friendly travel and cultural exchanges between the two countries.
Shekhawat also met Singapore’s Minister Alwyn Tan Sheng Hui to discuss infrastructure development and sustainability in tourism. In a productive meeting with Brazil, they discussed visa reforms and direct flights to promote tourism. Shekhawat further engaged with Saudi Arabia’s Tourism Minister Ahmed bin Aqeel Al-Khatib to explore youth training and collaborative opportunities for sustainable tourism.
