Bastille Day Parade
In welcoming India as the Guest of Honour at the Bastille Day Parade, French President Emmanuel Macron referred to it as a “giant” in international history and a strategic ally. On France’s National Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended the military parade as the Guest of Honour.
Taking to Twitter, President Macron tweeted, “A giant in world history, with a decisive role to play in the future, a strategic partner, a friend. We are proud to welcome India as our guest of honour at the 14 July parade”.

Champs-Élysées saw the mesmerizing parade
At the Champs-Élysées in Paris, the Bastille Day Parade took place under brilliant, beautiful sky. As the Indian delegation marched up the Champs-Elysees, Prime Minister Narendra Modi accepted the formal salute from them.
The dignitaries in attendance at the Bastille Day Military Parade on Friday were led by French President Emmanuel Macron and First Lady Brigitte Macron. The French fighters who led the flypast left a trail of smoke in the red, blue, and white colours of the French flag.
Drums and trumpets were used by both the French and Indian forces as they marched. Prior to the military march, Macron was greeted by the Guard of Honour. Champs-Élysées was decorated with the French Flag’s colours.
25 years of India-France relations celebration on France’s National Day
The 25th anniversary of the two nations’ strategic cooperation falls this year as well. The climax of the festivities on July 14th, which commemorates the anniversary of the French Revolution’s storming of the Bastille prison. It is an old royal fortification, in 1789, is the Bastille Day Parade.
In several marching contingents, 6,300 soldiers participated in the Bastille Day Parade this year. A tri-services contingent from the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force was included in this. The Punjab Regiment served as a representative of the Indian Army. The Regiment’s soldiers fought in both World Wars, serving in the first one and receiving 18 battle and theatre honours.
In September 1915, the Punjab Regiment took part in an attack in the vicinity of Neuve Chapelle in France. During the Second World War, the regiment additionally received 14 theatre awards and 16 battle awards. The IAF Rafales left the audience in amazement as they sped over Champs-Elysees in a moment to remember for India
