Baba Siddique joins NCP
The Mumbai Police Crime Branch has arrested five more individuals in connection with the murder of NCP leader Baba Ziauddin Siddique in Bandra on October 12. This brings the total number of arrests in the case to nine.
Following raids in Karjat and Panvel, the police arrested Sambhaji Kisan Pardhi, Ram Kanojia, Pradeep Thombre, Chetan Pardhi, and Nitin Sapre. The suspects were charged with conspiracy and other offences. They were produced before the Esplanade court and sent to police custody until October 25. Police stated that Sapre had direct links with the main conspirators who supplied weapons for Siddique’s killing.
Police suspect the involvement of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, which claimed responsibility for the murder. Investigations revealed the arrested individuals’ mobile numbers were found on the phones of the previously arrested suspects. The accused’s lawyer argued they were innocent labourers, but the Magistrate rejected the plea and sent them to police custody for a week.
