In a move aimed at furthering Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for India’s North East region, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced today that over 100 branches of India Post Payment Bank (IPPB) will be established in the region. This expansion is set to amplify the bank’s mission of financial inclusion and empowerment of the underserved population of North east India.
IPPB, launched in 2018, has already made significant strides in providing accessible banking services to millions of customers, particularly in remote areas. With its Doorstep Banking services and extensive network of over 1.36 lakh post offices, IPPB has revolutionized banking for the masses.
