Allahabad High Court
The Allahabad High Court has granted interim relief to Dinesh Kumar Goyal, the owner of Fitjee Coaching, and two others, who are accused of fraud. The court has stayed their arrest until August 27th, on the condition that they cooperate with the ongoing investigation related to the FIR lodged at Civil Lines police station in Prayagraj.
As part of the court’s conditions, the petitioners have been directed to deposit one-third of the fees collected from students or their parents into their bank accounts through digital means within two weeks. Additionally, the court has allowed the investigating officer to withdraw ₹70 lakh from the seized bank account of the petitioner’s company, while the remaining amount will remain frozen. The petitioners are also required to file a compliance affidavit with the court.
This order was issued by a division bench comprising Justice Siddharth and Justice Brijraj Singh during the hearing of a petition filed by Dinesh Kumar Goyal and the other accused.
The FIR against the petitioners alleges that they collected fees from students, subsequently closed the coaching center, and failed to refund the fees. As part of the court’s directive, the petitioners have been ordered to submit their passports to the investigating officer and have been prohibited from leaving the country without the court’s permission.
The next hearing in this matter is scheduled for August 27th.
