Father kills daughter and her lover as she steps out to meet him at 4am in UP’s Budaun

A man, who was upset that his daughter had gone out to meet her boyfriend at four in the morning, killed both of them with a spade. On Tuesday morning, he turned himself in to the police at a local station in the Budaun district of Uttar Pradesh, carrying the “murder weapon.”

“Her father and other relatives killed a 19-year-old woman and her boyfriend, 20,” stated SSP (Budaun), OP Singh.

The accused, Mahesh (first name only), then turned himself in at the police station in Bilsi.”

He further added, “We’ve registered an FIR under IPC sections 302 (murder), 147 (rioting), 148 (rioting with dangerous weapons), 149 (guilty of offence committed in prosecution of common object) and 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) on the complaint of her boyfriend’s kin against the woman’s parents and three members of her family. The woman’s parents were arrested and sent to jail.”

According to SSP, the victims were from the same neighbourhood and had known each other for past two years. The bodies have been sent for an autopsy.

The woman’s father informed police during questioning that he had been monitoring his daughter’s activities because he thought she was planning to elope with their neighbor’s son.

“At 4am on Tuesday, when she left the house and met her friend, her father caught her outside and attacked them with a spade. The impact of the repeated blows on her almost severed her head from the torso. Both were hacked to death,” said a police officer. The victim’s boyfriend, Sachin, used to work in Himachal Pradesh and had come home on December 31, the police added.
