He further added, “We’ve registered an FIR under IPC sections 302 (murder), 147 (rioting), 148 (rioting with dangerous weapons), 149 (guilty of offence committed in prosecution of common object) and 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) on the complaint of her boyfriend’s kin against the woman’s parents and three members of her family. The woman’s parents were arrested and sent to jail.”
According to SSP, the victims were from the same neighbourhood and had known each other for past two years. The bodies have been sent for an autopsy.
The woman’s father informed police during questioning that he had been monitoring his daughter’s activities because he thought she was planning to elope with their neighbor’s son.
“At 4am on Tuesday, when she left the house and met her friend, her father caught her outside and attacked them with a spade. The impact of the repeated blows on her almost severed her head from the torso. Both were hacked to death,” said a police officer.
