In a relentless pursuit of investigative actions, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) targeted the residences of two ministers from Mamata Banerjee’s government in West Bengal on Friday, January 12. A specialized ED team commenced a raid on the premises of Bengal Fire Service Minister Sujit Bose, while simultaneously, another team initiated search operations at locations associated with Minister Tapas Roy. The scope of the search operation extends to various places, including the residence of North Dumdum Municipal Chairman Subodh Chakraborty.”
Enforcement Directorate (ED) Team Faces Assault During Operation
In a recent development surrounding the PDS scam case, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) team carried out a raid on the residence of TMC leader Shahjahan Sheikh in Sandeshkhali, North Parganas 24. The operation took a violent turn as approximately a thousand people launched an attack. Numerous ED officers and security personnel sustained injuries during the confrontation. In addition to assaulting the individuals, the attackers vandalized officers’ vehicles and went as far as breaking mobile phones. This incident highlights the volatile nature of the situation and the challenges faced by law enforcement in their pursuit of the PDS scam investigation.

ED director had visited West Bengal
After the assault on ED officers, Acting Director Rahul Naveen promptly arrived in Kolkata. Holding a meeting with officials, sources reveal that the acting ED director urged close collaboration with the NIA to probe Shahjahan Sheikh’s connections across the Bangladesh border.
