Journey from Officer to Politician
Before entering politics, Rajeshwar Singh served as a strict and disciplined officer. He held the position of Joint Director at the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and spent many years in the Uttar Pradesh Police.
On 31 January 2022, he voluntarily retired to pursue a career in politics, motivated by a desire to serve the public.
In the 2022 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, Singh contested from Sarojini Nagar as the BJP candidate. He defeated Samajwadi Party’s Abhishek Mishra by a significant margin of nearly 56,000 votes.
Prior to Singh, this seat was held by the BJP’s Swati Singh.
