Diwali 2026: Delhi Metro To Shut Earlier, Last Trains At 10 PM

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has introduced revised operating hours for Sunday, November 8, to accommodate Diwali celebrations.

Under the festive timetable, the final Metro trains will leave their respective terminal stations at 10 PM. This marks a one-hour change from the standard 11 PM departure.

The revised timings will cover every Metro corridor, including the Airport Express Line.

DMRC announced the changes on Friday and asked commuters to account for the adjusted schedule while organising their travel.

Passengers can obtain additional information through the corporation’s official website and social media accounts.

The corporation will also advance the morning timetable on three routes because Diwali coincides with Sunday.

The Pink, Magenta and Grey lines will commence operations at 6 AM, compared with their normal Sunday start time of 7 AM.

The updated morning schedule applies to these corridors:

Magenta Line: Botanical Garden–Krishna Park Extension and Majlis Park–Deepali Chowk

The adjustments will provide commuters with additional flexibility during the festive celebrations.

DMRC previously extended operations until midnight on October 30 to support travel arrangements for Diljit Dosanjh’s ‘Aura India Tour 2026’ concert at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium.

Separately, the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) activated Stage III of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) throughout Delhi-NCR on Friday.

Delhi’s AQI climbed to 382, placing the city in the ‘Very Poor’ category. Officials introduced the restrictions before Diwali as a precaution against worsening pollution.
