The two prominent institutes of the National Capital, St Stephen’s College and Dwarka’s St Thomas’s School, received bomb threats via emails on Tuesday, reported Delhi Police. This led to the swift evacuation of the students and the staff.
With alarming situations arising, Delhi’s Bomb Disposal Squad, Dog Squad, Fire Brigade, & Special Staff reached the education centres.
Moreover, the Delhi Police elaborates that the probe is underway, yet nothing has been discovered so far.
After the conduct of a search operation, no items have been discovered in these institutions that can raise suspicions, reports the police.
Meanwhile, the Police claim that the threat has been received via email.
The email threat to St Thomas’ School and St Stephen’s College was confirmed by the Delhi Fire Department.
All the members of the institute were evacuated by the security personnel.
The police are still investigating the source of the emails, while a detailed investigation is underway. Further details are awaited.
Apart from this, a similar case came to light on July 15, Mumbai’s Bombay Stock Exchange also received a bomb threat via email on its official website, states the police.
The email was disguised under the address of ‘Comrade Pinayari Vijayan’. This provoked the police to take immediate action.
Similar threats were given to the school of the capital, CRPF School in Prashant Vihar, CRPF School in Dwarka Sector 16 & a school in Chanakyapuri were under the vulnerable situation.
Security measures were taken, and bomb squads reached the necessary locations, but fortunately, these emails were fake.
On the same day, the Golden Temple of Punjab, Amritsar, also received an email about the sabotage. This incident was reported to the authorities by the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC).
