Delhi AQI Reaches 321
Delhi’s AQI reached 321 ahead of the cold wave in the northern region. Almost 23 trains are running late of its schedule time, news agency ANI. Meanwhile, dense fog in isolated pockets will likely continue during the night and morning hours over Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar from January 14.
Heavy rains/snow may lash isolated pockets of Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh and Himachal Pradesh.
Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning may occur over isolated pockets of Jammu and Himachal Pradesh.
Dense fog is very likely in isolated pockets over Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.
Fog is also forecast over coastal Odisha and coastal Andhra Pradesh in the morning hours.
Hazardous air quality is possible across the subcontinent, especially over North India.
The Western Himalayan Region from January 11 to January 14 will experience rainfall/snowfall. Isolated light rainfall over Punjab, Haryana and adjoining areas of west Uttar Pradesh from January 11 to January 13.
Moreover, isolated heavy rainfall or snowfall with isolated thunderstorms and lightning may lash Jammu and Kashmir on January 11 and 12. Similar conditions are likely over Himachal Pradesh on January 12.
Due to the approaching western disturbance, minimum temperatures are very likely to rise by 2-4°C over the plains of Northwest India during the next two days. As a result, Northwest India would get some relief from cold wave conditions during the next three days.
Cold day conditions are forecast over isolated parts of Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar on January 11. Thereafter, abatement of cold day conditions is likely from these regions.
Meanwhile, dense fog in isolated pockets will likely continue during the night and morning hours over Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar from January 14.
Amid the low visibility, 23 Indian Railway trains running late in the Northern Region, news agency ANI reported.
Ahead the temperature dip in the national capital, AQI (Air Quality Index) reached to 321, slipping into “very poor” category of air quality index.
In a report by ANI, it said, “Delhi | Smog engulfs Delhi, air quality is in “very poor” category with an overall AQI of 312.”
