A 32-year-old man who was out on bail in a murder case was shot and killed on Tuesday night in New Usmanpur, northeast Delhi, the police officials reported on Wednesday.
Sanjay Singh was identified as the individual who had passed away. He has a restaurant in the vicinity of Hudson Lane in GTB Nagar. Unidentified assailants pursued him on their bikes after he left his restaurant on Tuesday night and caught up to him on a service road in New Usmanpur. They shot him seven or eight times before escaping, according to police officers.
A man who knew Singh informed his family about the incident, as did other locals and onlookers. Singh’s relatives notified the police control center at 12:33 in the morning. Joy N. Tirkey, the deputy commissioner of police for the northeast, stated that Singh was one of three individuals engaged in the 2010 murder of a man named Ravinder.
A acquaintance informed Nitin, Singh’s younger brother, that Singh’s body was lying close to the New Usmanpur service road. After racing to the scene, he discovered Singh lying there. Singh has injured elbow, shoulder, abdomen, and head. After being taken to Jag Pravesh Chandra Hospital, he was declared dead, according to DCP Tirkey.
When the police got there, they found a live round, four lead pieces, and seven empty shells. A case was filed against unidentified individuals under the Arms Act after Nitin filed a complaint. In New Usmanpur, Nitin is the owner of a dairy.
Although they have questioned locals and taken all CCTV footage from the neighborhood, investigators claim they have not yet identified the perpetrators.
An officer associated with case said, “Singh and his three associates had killed a local named Ravinder in 2010. We think Singh’s murder could be related to that. Singh had also fought with some neighbours over petty issues three or four days ago. His murder could also be linked to that fight.”
