Delhi Lakshmi Yojana: CM Rekha Gupta To Hand Over Letters To 4,000 Women

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta will hand over official letters to nearly 4,000 women beneficiaries under the Delhi Lakshmi Yojana at a special event at Talkatora Stadium on Wednesday, an official said.

The event will mark the fulfilment of a key election promise of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party, which returned to power in Delhi in 2025 after more than 27 years. The BJP won 48 of the 70 seats in the Delhi Assembly.

Under the scheme, eligible women will receive monthly financial assistance of ₹2,500.

So far, 6.52 lakh women have submitted their final applications to avail the benefit, while the scheme’s official website has recorded 9.13 lakh registrations from women at different stages of submitting the required documents.

Ahead of the letter distribution event, CM Rekha Gupta highlighted the strong response from women across Delhi to the financial assistance scheme, describing it as an initiative aimed at strengthening their financial independence, confidence and freedom.

The Chief Minister has been closely monitoring preparations for the distribution of scheme letters. She had earlier said that eligible women would receive official letters at the event and that the financial assistance would begin being credited directly into their bank accounts from September 1.

Verification Process

The process will continue, and eligible women will receive the assistance regularly once their applications clear the approval process.

CM Rekha Gupta has emphasised the role of district-level committees in ensuring the smooth implementation of the Delhi Lakshmi Yojana. She further directed committee officials to thoroughly scrutinise and monitor applications to ensure that eligible women receive the benefits without unnecessary delays.

The Chief Minister said faster verification would help officials process applications sooner and speed up financial assistance for eligible beneficiaries.

The upcoming event will therefore likely mark an important implementation milestone for the BJP government, as the first group of beneficiaries formally receives confirmation of their eligibility under the scheme.
