A remarkable feat of medical expertise unfolded at a private hospital in Delhi as doctors successfully reattached the severed hand of Ashok, a factory worker, following a tragic accident. Ashok, employed as a daily wage worker, faced the harrowing experience of losing his right hand in the accident.
The intricate procedure, spanning over ten hours, was led by Dr Nikhil Jhunjhunwala from the Department of Plastic Surgery at Sir Gangaram Hospital. Dr. Jhunjhunwala, along with his skilled colleague, Dr. Gourav Siwas, adeptly navigated the complexities of reuniting broken bones, tendons, nerves, arteries, and veins severed during the accident. Their meticulous teamwork ensured precise care and attention to detail throughout the surgery.
The hospital commended the collaborative effort, highlighting the invaluable guidance of Dr Mahesh Mangal, the esteemed chairman of the plastic surgery department. The surgical team’s unwavering commitment and expertise were pivotal in restoring Ashok’s hand, offering him renewed hope for normalcy.
