Delhi Air quality remains ‘very poor’, AQI stands at 323

On Tuesday, Delhi’s general air quality was still classified as “very poor,” with citizens waking up to dense smog engulfing the city. According to data from the System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting and Research (SAFAR), the Air Quality Index (AQI) was 323 at 5:17 a.m. on Tuesday.

At 374 in Anand Vihar, 399 in Jahangirpuri, 315 in Lodhi Road, and 370 in New Moti Bagh, the AQI was recorded.

After a slight improvement the previous day, the quality of the air in Delhi and its suburbs declined again during the night, and predictions indicate that a significant improvement is unlikely in the upcoming days.

As of 4 pm on Monday, the city’s 24-hour average AQI was 348, down from 301 on Sunday. 405 on Friday, and 419 on Thursday, it was 319 on Saturday.

The air quality in nearby NCR areas such as Ghaziabad (321), Gurugram (261), Greater Noida (318), Noida (331) and Faridabad (329) also dipped.

An AQI of 0–50 is regarded as “good,” 51–100 as “satisfactory,” 101–200 as “moderate,” 201–300 as “poor,” 301–400 as “very poor,” 401–450 as “severe,” and 450 and above as “severe plus.”
