“Congress Trying To Divide Hindus”: PM Modi Over Bihar Caste Survey

After the caste census results for Bihar were released on Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi attacked Congress. He asserted that the poor “constituted the largest population” and accused the Congress of “dividing” Hindus.

When speaking to a crowd in poll-bound Chhattisgarh PM Modi said, “But, now Congress is saying that the population of the community will decide who will have the first right to the country’s resources. So now do they (Congress) want to decrease the rights of the minority? Do they want to remove the minorities?” he said.

“I am repeating that the Congress is no longer being run by its people. Senior leaders of Congress are sitting with their mouths shut. Neither are they asked nor do they dare to speak after seeing all this. Congress has now been outsourced,” the Prime Minister said.

“They are trying to divide the Hindus. They are trying to divide the poor. They are trying to destroy the country,” he said.

Months before 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Nitish Kumar-led government in Bihar released the results of its caste census on Monday. The survey found that 63% of the state’s population belongs to the Other Backward Classes (OBCs) and Extremely Backward Classes (EBCs).
