Over the rising prices of onions the Congress today threw a direct question to the ruling BJP as why the prices have become so expensive?   The Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge has said that the rising prices of onions are a final nail into BJP’s coffin as the people will be overwhelmingly vote against the saffron party in the upcoming Assembly elections in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Telangana and Mizoram.

Kharge also said that the economic conditions in the country has worsened since the last 9 and a half years and the Prime Minister makes fun of that. “Whenever any such pertinent questions are placed before him he  smiles and says “I don’t see any inflations” , “I don’t eat onions” these kind of replies,” said Kharge.

The prices of onion has risen terribly in Delhi with the prices per kg has risen to about Rs 100.  However, the Central government on Saturday said continuous procurement and disposal of onion from the buffer is being undertaken to moderate the prices and ensure remunerative prices to the farmers.

Kharge said that the secret of this price rise will be told by the people by voting against the BJP
