On Saturday, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath visited Prayagraj to review the arrangements for Mauni Amavasya at the Maha Kumbh Mela. He sought detailed reports from officials and interacted with devotees, who praised the state government’s efforts in organizing the event.
Arriving by helicopter, CM Yogi headed directly to Sangam Nose, the site of the unfortunate stampede that occurred during the Amrit Snan on Mauni Amavasya.
Upon reaching the location, he inspected the area and gathered information from Mela Officer Vijay Kiran Anand and DIG Vaibhav Krishna about the incident.
The Mela Officer provided a report on how the injured were promptly transported to the hospital, ensuring swift medical attention.
After reviewing the situation, CM Yogi focused on preparations for the upcoming Basant Panchami Amrit Snan and issued instructions to guarantee smooth arrangements for the event.
On his way back from the site, the Chief Minister interacted with thousands of devotees, checking on their well-being as he approached barricades.
Devotees greeted him enthusiastically with chants of ‘Har Har Mahadev’, ‘Jai Shri Ram’, and ‘Jai Ganga Maiya’, and expressed gratitude for the excellent facilities provided by the government during the Maha Kumbh.
It is important to note that CM Yogi had earlier expressed his sorrow over the tragic incident during Mauni Amavasya, becoming visibly emotional as he spoke about the incident.
