Bomb Threat Emails Target Multiple Delhi Schools; Police Launch Search Operations

Multiple schools in the national capital received bomb threat emails early Wednesday morning, triggering immediate emergency responses from the Delhi Police and Fire Services.

The threats sparked panic among students, parents, and school staff, raising concerns about safety in educational institutions.

According to officials, SKV Malviya Nagar and Andhra School, Prasad Nagar, received threatening emails at around 7:40 AM and 7:42 AM, respectively.

The Delhi Fire Services (DFS) confirmed that the emails prompted rapid deployment of search teams, bomb disposal squads, and police units to the affected schools.

Search Operations Underway

Police and other agencies remain on-site, conducting comprehensive search operations to ensure the safety of students and staff. The DFS warned that the sender may have targeted additional schools, prompting a broader investigation.

The latest incidents come just days after a similar scare on August 18, when Delhi Public School (DPS) Dwarka received a bomb threat call at around 7:00 AM, leading to evacuation and thorough searches. Fortunately, that threat, like the previous ones, turned out to be a hoax.

The current wave of threats also recalls an incident last month, when over 50 schools across Delhi received similar emails. Those threats caused widespread panic, forced several institutions to switch to online classes temporarily, and prompted city-wide emergency operations involving dog squads, fire brigades, and bomb disposal teams. All messages were later deemed non-credible.

Authorities emphasise that evacuation and on-site verification remain standard protocols, ensuring safety before resuming normal school operations.

The Delhi Police are investigating the origin of the latest emails, while cybercrime units are tracing the sender or group responsible for this recurring disruption.

Officials urge the public to remain calm but vigilant, with the safety of children and school communities treated as the highest priority.
