Following the strategy the party adopted in the hindi heartland states, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today has released it’s first list of candidates for the Telangana assembly elections. 52 candidates has been named in that list. Names of two MPs and a national general secretary have been figured in the list.

Party MP Soyam Bapu Rao has been fielded from Boath and another MP Arvind Dharmapuri has been given the ticket from Koratla. Bandi Sanjay Kumar, BJP national general secretary, has been fielded from Karimnagar.
Firebrand BJP leader and MLA T Raja Singh, whose suspension was revoked earlier today, has been given the ticket from Goshamahal. Singh was suspended from the party following his remarks against Prophet Muhammad.

The elections in the state is likely to throw a triangular contest. Apart from BJP, the ruling Bharat Rashtra Samity (BRS) and the Congress are in the fray. In the 2018 assembly elections BRS won 88 of the 119 seats, with 47.4 per cent of the total vote share. Congress finished second but way behind bagging 19 seats with a vote share of 28.7 per cent.
Mizoram (November 7), Chhattisgarh (November 7 & 17), Madhya Pradesh (November 17) and Rajasthan (November 25) also scheduled to go for polls in this election season. Telangana is scheduled to go to polls on November 30 with the counting is scheduled for December 3.
