Lalu Yadav’s family has received significant relief from Rouse Avenue Court in the money laundering case involving a job in exchange for land. In this case, the court has granted regular bail to Hema Yadav, Hridayanand Chaudhary, Lalu Yadav’s wife, Rabri Devi, the former chief minister of Bihar, and her daughter, Misa Bharti. All four of the parties involved in this money laundering case have been granted regular bail with conditions by Rouse Avenue Court.
Land-For-Jobs Case
The accused have not been detained while the investigation is ongoing, the court declared. Consequently, the court sees no justification for dismissing the standard bail petition. As a result, the accused are granted standard bail. Regarding the three parties’ regular bail request, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has submitted a response. Given the seriousness of the offense, ED stated in court that if these people are to be granted bail, it should come with conditions.
What is a job in exchange for a land case?
According to the CBI, Lalu Yadav obtained land registered in his family members’ names between 2004 and 2009 in exchange for being assigned to Group D positions across the Railways. He was able to benefit financially from his position as Railway Minister in this way. All applicants who registered for the land within three days of applying were appointed by railway officials. They would all get jobs later as soon as the land was transferred.
A private company owned by the former chief minister and his family, as well as members of Lalu Prasad’s family, are purportedly the recipients of land gifts or sales from numerous Patna residents. They claimed that Misa Bharti, Hema Yadav, and Rabri Devi were the names on the land transfers. Not even a public notice of their appointment was given to the individuals who were designated to donate land.

CBI has 2 weeks for the final Charge sheet
Concurrently, the CBI informed Rouse Avenue Court on Tuesday that it will submit the last charge sheet in the land-for-jobs case within the next two weeks. The investigating agency informed the court that it will soon wrap up its investigation and submit the final chargesheet. The CBI was given two weeks by Rouse Avenue Court to submit the final charge sheet. The agency was granted time by Special Judge Vishal Gogane, who scheduled the case for March 14.
