‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’ Enters Bihar A day After Nitish Kumar Joins BJP

On Monday, the ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’ led by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will enter into Bihar via Kishanganj, a predominantly Muslim district and party stronghold.

Gandhi’s Yatra enters Bihar a day after Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, a former ally of the Congress, rejoined the BJP-led NDA.

According to Congress legislator party leader Shakil Ahmed Khan, Gandhi would speak at a public meeting in Kishanganj on Tuesday. He will then attend large rallies in Purnea, a nearby district, and Katihar, a day later.

State Congress president Akhilesh Prasad Singh said that he will depart for West Bengal on Thursday via the Araria area and return to Bihar via Jharkhand a few days later.

The state Congress officials claim that invitations to the Purnea rally have been extended to the party’s coalition partners in Bihar, including RJD president Lalu Prasad and CPI(ML)-L general secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya. The invitation was also given to Nitish Kumar which was even accepted by him.
