The Central Crime Branch (CCB) apprehended five terror suspects on Wednesday in Bengaluru. The arrests were made consequent to suspicion of their involvement in seditious activities. The suspects identified as Junaid, Sohail, Umar, Mudasir and Jahid had Several explosive materials among other items under their possession. All the items, including their cell phones, were confiscated.
Supposedly, the team’s intention was to carry out a blast in the Silicon Valley of India. Further investigation to get to the bottom of their plot is underway. The CCB is also looking for five more people who might be involved in the planning.
According to the officials, all five suspects arrested were accused of murder in 2017 and were imprisoned in Parappana Agrahara Central Jail where they made acquaintance with the terrorists. Moreover, attained training in handling explosives.
Meanwhile, on the same day in Pune, an incident of similar nature surfaced. In a significant development, the police announced that they successfully arrested two NIA-Wanted individuals for their probable involvement in terror-related activities. The suspects identified as Imran Khan and Md Yunus Saki had a bounty of Rs 5 lakh each under their possession.

Similarly, a few days back, a 32-year-old man was detained by Anti-Terrorism Squad from the Doda district in Jammu and Kashmir for recruiting operatives for a terrorist organization. Reportedly, the suspect had been transferring funds into Uanid Mohammad Ata Mohammad’s accounts. Junaid Mohammad Ata Mohammad, another accused was arrested by ATS on May 24 for his alleged involvement in the recruitment of operatives for the banned terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT).
