The Enforcement Directorate arrived to Delhi minister Raaj Kumar Anand’s home on Thursday morning, one day before the agency was scheduled to question chief minister Arvind Kejriwal. In addition to the minister’s home in the Civil Lines neighborhood, nine locations connected to him were the target of ED raids. According to sources, the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) filed a charge sheet on charges of false declarations in imports for customs evasion of more than ₹7 crore, aside from international hawala transactions, which prompted the raids on Raaj Kuman Anand’s premises. Kejriwal will also be questioned regarding a money laundering probe related to Delhi’s liquor policy.

Following the early-year resignations of Manish Siisodia and Satyendar Jain, Patel Nagar MLA and labor minister Raj Kumar Anand,57, was given the education and health ministries. Afterwards, Atishi received education and Saurabh Bharadwaj received health care.

Manish Sisodia, Satyendar Jain, and AAP MP Sanjay Singh are currently incarcerated due to various crimes, coinciding with the searches. Kejriwal was questioned for nine hours after the CBI called him in April.

The Aam Aadmi Party claimed to have been informed that Kejriwal would be arrested by the ED. The party and the Delhi government will flee from jail if Kejriwal is caught, according to a statement made on Wednesday by Delhi minister Saurabh Bharadwaj. Following Kejriwal, AAP Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha declared that all opposition leaders, including Hemant Soren, Tejashwi Yadav, Mamata Banerjee, Abhishek Banerjee, MK Stalin, Pinarayi Vijayan, and others, would be singled out and imprisoned prior to the 2024 Lok Sabha election.
