“Become A Lamp Yourself And Burn In Dark”, Says Bharat Express MD Upendrra Rai

Upendrra Rai, Chairman, MD and Editor-in-Chief of Bharat Express News Network was felicitated by Pradhan Brahmin Samaj Sanstha. During the event he was presented a statue of Lord Parshuram. Addressing the convention, Upendrra Rai said that everyone’s aim should be to make society better and beautiful.

He said, “We all have a connection with Lord Parshuram and our lineage comes from there. We will not tell about Lord Parshuram because all the educated people here know about him. Upendra Rai further said that Lord Parshuram is considered to be the sixth incarnation of Lord Vishnu. To fulfill his father’s orders, he killed his mother, but when it came to his turn to ask for a boon, he asked for his mother’s life again.

That’s why the life of a Brahmin has only one purpose of bringing happiness into the lives of others through our actions. If we are able to bring even a little bit of happiness in someone’s life through our community through our deeds, then that is called virtue. If someone gets hurt because of us then that is a sin. Any society should have only one objective. Like Tulsidas ji has said that ‘parhit saris dharma nahi bhai, par peeda nahi sam adhikai’.

He further added, “Don’t try finding light (Diya) everywhere instead become a lamp yourself and burn in the dark.’ So when we change ourselves only then real change starts, but often we want the change to happen in others, Bhagat Singh to be born in someone else’s house and our son to have a good career with less risks and higher return.”

He said, that if the entire continent of Asia bows down at India, it is only because of Mahatma Buddha. If the whole world comes to know India then it is because of Lord Krishna. If ISKCON temple is spread in 180 countries of the world, it is only because of Lord Krishna.
