Anthony Albanese With PM Modi
G20: Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has praised the G20 Summit held in India as “successful.” During the summit held at Bharat Mandapam, he took a selfie with Prime Minister Modi. Albanese stated that there was a fruitful bilateral discussion between the two leaders during the New Delhi summit. He posted the selfie taken with PM Modi on his social media account, captioning it, “After a successful G20 meeting hosted by Narendra Modi today in New Delhi, Australia and India have concluded agreements on extensive economic cooperation.”
Albanese also mentioned that India and Australia have signed Comprehensive Economic Cooperation Agreement (CECA) during the G20 Summit. Both countries signed the bilateral economic cooperation trade agreement in April 2022, which came into effect on December 29, 2022. Currently, Australia is India’s sixth-largest trading partner in goods and services. The two countries have engaged in trade worth approximately 46.5 billion dollars.
It’s worth noting that Australian PM Anthony Albanese arrived in Delhi on Friday to participate in the G20 Summit. Prior to this, he had met with PM Modi during his visit to Australia in May. Albanese emphasized that the India-Australia relationship has strengthened through PM Modi’s visit to Australia. He stated, “This is a relationship that we need to invest in. Our strong partnership with India will benefit Australia in terms of trade, investment, business, regional security, and stability.”
