Atiq & Ashraf murder
Atiq Ahmed with his brother Ashraf Ahmed was shot dead while going for a routine medical test when he was talking with the media amidst high security near Prayagraj’s Doomanganj police station. What’s more shocking in this whole incident is the happening of this killing in front of a dozen of cameras and high-level security.
While this incident raises a dozen of questions over the administration, there are a lot of questions that are making rounds. Was it a security failure? How was that security breach possible? How did the killers reach that close to the Ahmed brothers with guns? Why did police remain still for the next couple of seconds when this happened? How can the administration manage this level of negligence? Was it a poorly written script of UP police or a mishappening in real?

It is noteworthy that the whole incident happened in the most unpredictable and perhaps the most unconstitutional manner. The three attackers who managed to kill Atiq and Ashraf Ahmed are juveniles, which already impacts the quantum of punishment as per law. 17 UP police cops have been suspended in the matter and CM Yogi Adityanath has ordered a high-level inquiry in the probe.
Meanwhile, taking into account the gravity of the situation, section 144 has been imposed in the whole state, and internet service has been disrupted in Prayagraj. The borders of the city have been sealed to avoid any unrest and unavoidable situation.
