Arvind Kejriwal Skips 8th ED Summon, Says Will answer to Agency’s Questions

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal did not appear before the ED for questioning in the famous excise policy scam of Delhi. After ignoring the eighth summon of the Enforcement Directorate, CM Kejriwal called it illegal. Now Kejriwal himself has said that he will face ED’s questions.

Arvind Kejriwal said, ‘My stand has always been that the summons coming from ED are illegal. Why are they illegal? For this I have written a long letter and sent it to the agency. They haven’t answerd for that. They should have answered it. Tough I find the summons illegal still i am ready to answer your questions. We have not done anything wrong. Not hiding anything. So you can ask me questions through video conferencing. It is written in the law that the ED process is a judicial process. ED is like a court. The Supreme Court has directed that the party has the right to appear in any court through video conferencing.

If this is my right then I will definitely join through VC and answer all the questions. After this, in response to the question asked by journalists, CM Kejriwal said, ‘There is no demand from my side. If ED wants, it can get it telecasted live.

Arvind Kejriwal has said that he will appear before the ED after March 12 through video conferencing. Enforcement Directorate sources that the agency is examining Kejriwal’s reply. According to sources investigating agency may reject Kejriwal’s appeal to appear virtually. Not only this, it can also send ninth summons to Kejriwal.

Aam Aadmi Party has said that the investigating agency wants to arrest Kejriwal during the Lok Sabha elections. Arvind Kejriwal will appear in the City Court on March 16. He has appealed to the court that he should be exempted from physically appearing before ED.
