A school principal in Ghaziabad has been taken into custody on accusations of alleged molestation involving several female students, as reported by the authorities on Tuesday. The arrest followed an incident where a group of students composed a letter written in blood to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, urging him to intervene and address the situation concerning the principal’s actions.
In the detailed four-page letter, the female students detailed their allegations against Principal Rajeev Pandey. They claimed that Pandey had summoned them individually to his office, where he engaged in inappropriate conduct. The students further stated that when they attempted to voice their objections, the principal resorted to threats.
“We are seeking an audience with you to bring our plea for justice to your attention. We kindly request an opportunity to meet you along with our parents to provide a comprehensive account of the situation,” the letter conveyed.
The students also levelled allegations of inadequate police response and asserted that their families were being subjected to intimidation. According to their account, they had been confined to a police station for a protracted four-hour duration, yet no substantive measures had been taken against the principal. The students lamented that police officers were frequently visiting their homes, causing distress to their parents and making it arduous to venture outside.
“Respected Sir, we approach you as your daughters, beseeching your intervention to ensure justice,” the letter concluded.
Following the widespread circulation of the ‘letter in blood’ across social media platforms, the authorities took action and apprehended the principal.

WHAT DID THE POLICE STATE?
On August 21, a group of parents of girl students, along with a local council member, visited the school to demand accountability from the principal.
As per law enforcement officials, a heated confrontation escalated to the point where the parents physically confronted the principal. Subsequently, the parents lodged a complaint against him, alleging his involvement in the molestation of the students.
However, Principal Rajeev Pandey also lodged a counter-complaint against the parents, asserting that he had been subjected to physical assault by them.
Assistant Commissioner of Police Saloni Agarwal explained, “Promptly following the students’ accusations of molestation and inappropriate touching, a complaint was registered against the principal.” She clarified that a complaint was also registered against the parents in light of Rajeev Pandey’s sustained injuries during the altercation.
