Amit Shah To Attend Mega Tribal Event Marking Birsa Munda Anniversary

A grand ‘Janjati Sanskritik Samagam’ will take place at the historic Red Fort grounds in Delhi today, bringing together tribal representatives from across India to celebrate indigenous traditions, cultural identity, and the legacy of Bhagwan Birsa Munda.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah will attend the mega conclave as the Chief Guest during the 150th birth anniversary year of the iconic tribal freedom fighter.

The event is expected to attract nearly 1.5 lakh participants from more than 550 tribal communities across the country.

Organisers from the Janjati Suraksha Manch are hosting the gathering to showcase tribal heritage and recognise the contribution of tribal communities to India’s freedom movement, history, and nation-building.

Tribal men and women dressed in colourful traditional attire will participate in cultural processions from five different locations across Delhi before gathering at the Red Fort venue.

The programme will feature folk dances, indigenous music performances, traditional handicrafts, and exhibitions presenting the customs and traditions of tribal communities from various states.

Organisers will also honour around 100 distinguished tribal personalities from fields including sports, education, social service, and culture for their achievements and contributions.

Ahead of the conclave, community leaders and organisers reviewed preparations during a meeting at Shyam Giri Temple in Delhi.

Authorities and organisers have deployed multiple committees along with nearly 20 departments to manage transport, accommodation, food, drinking water, medical facilities, cleanliness, and security arrangements for the large-scale event.

Organisers described the conclave as a significant national initiative to promote cultural pride, unity, and greater recognition for India’s tribal communities.

Bhagwan Birsa Munda remains one of India’s most respected tribal leaders for leading a powerful resistance movement against British rule and protecting tribal faith, identity, and traditions.
